Beginner Programs
CJVA’s Youth Development program is designed for beginner players in 3rd to 8th grade. Coaches focus on teaching and refining the basic fundamental skills of volleyball, including passing, setting, serving, and hitting. Mastery of these basic skills is accomplished through progressive skill training, feedback, and games. As a player develops, they will advance to other programs, such as our seasonal Youth Leagues or Club Volleyball programs.

Sign up for our Summer season now! This season will run from June to August, with options to sign up for one or two days per week. You can also sign up on a monthly basis, or sign up for all 3 months at a discount rate!
Please note that there will be no class on July 4th
Youth Development FAQ
Our Youth Development programs are recommended for players aged 8-14. We recommend that older players, and more advanced younger players, sign up for our Youth Leagues or club volleyball programs.
All of our athletes must dress in athletic attire. This means sneakers, shorts or sweatpants, and a t-shirt. It's tough to play volleyball in jeans! In addition, we recommend players bring plenty of water, especially in the hot summer months!
Our 3-month discount is only available prior to the start of the season. However, if there is room in the program, you can sign up for that month.
Registration for our upcoming seasons usually opens up about a month before the start date of the season. So if a season is set to start in July, the registrations will open up in early June.
If your child has attended our Youth Development for more than a few months, we recommend moving on to our seasonal Youth Leagues. These provide a much more team-based learning environment, where players can move on from learning fundamental skills, to improving those skills and learn to apply them in real games of volleyball!
