How would you describe your coaching style?

My priority in coaching is to teach the basic techniques of all skills.  In doing so my players can self-diagnose the positive and negative of their game play.  Next I strive to teach the girls how to keep a positive mindset throughout the entire game whether we are winning or losing.

What is your favorite characteristic in a player?

Coachability! A player who is coachable, can learn from her mistakes and excel at her game, this  is my favorite type of player.

Who are the people who have influenced you the most as a coach?

My senior year in high school we started a boys’ volleyball team.  With a first year coach we realized how incredibly valuable it is to have a knowledgeable and passionate coach.  I try to bring that to every practice and game.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not in coaching mode?

My life is always in coaching mode whether on or off the court.  Raising two daughters, my wife and I always strive to guide them to make good life choices.  However, when I do have some downtime I enjoy watching sports especially the Philadelphia Eagles.

What’s your favorite thing about volleyball?

Winning and striving to be the best we can be every season.  I love to see the improvement in the team from the start of the season to the end of the season.
