2026 Summer Camps

Summer is the perfect time for players to improve their skills, get valuable reps, and prepare for school or club team opportunities in the fall—or simply learn how to play volleyball! CJVA offers a variety of summer day camps designed to help athletes stay active, build confidence, and continue developing their game.

Summer Camps run from July 6 through August 20. Players should register for the grade they will be entering in Fall 2026. Camps are offered as either four-day camps, such as All-Skills camps running Monday through Thursday, or two-day Mini-Camps, which run Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday. All camps are co-ed, with the following exceptions:

Girls only: Prep Camps & National Team Training Camps
Boys only: Boys All-Skills and Boys’ Tryout Camps

Use the calendars below to plan your summer schedule. Camps are organized by week and time, allowing players to register for one camp or combine multiple camps to create a full day of training. If your player is registered for multiple camps during the same week, please be sure they bring snacks and/or lunch for breaks between sessions.

See below for specific camp details and calendars for each location this summer.

Summer Camp Descriptions

Our Summer Kickoff and All-Skills camps are designed to help players build the foundation needed to become well-rounded volleyball athletes. Throughout camp, players will focus on the six fundamental skills of the game: passing, setting, attacking, blocking, defense, and serving. In addition to skill development, athletes will also be introduced to systems of play and strategic game concepts through competitive drills, games, and fun challenges. Players will be grouped by age and skill level, ensuring that everyone—from beginners to more advanced athletes—has the opportunity to learn, grow, and be challenged.

This camp is designed for advanced players of all ages who are preparing to try out for CJVA’s Girls’ National Teams this season. Prior club experience with CJVA or another club—or other competitive volleyball experience—is preferred for players ages 13 and older, but it is not required for any age group. All players should have a strong understanding of the six fundamental volleyball skills: passing, setting, attacking, blocking, defense, and serving.

CJVA reserves the right to reassign players who do not meet the qualifications or skill level for this camp. In these cases, players may be offered a more appropriate camp or clinic option, or a credit for the cost of the camp. If you are unsure whether this camp is the right fit, please reach out to your coach or one of our master coaches before registering.

For East Hanover, the 12–14U program is for players born after 7/1/2012, and the 15–18U program is for players born between 7/1/2008 and 6/30/2012.

These condensed, two-day camps focus on mastering one or two essential volleyball skills. The camps will start with proper fundamental techniques and progress to more advanced concepts and in-game strategies. They are perfect for athletes looking to target and improve specific areas of their game.

Mini-Camp Options

  • Serve & Serve Receive: Covers stance, lift, and contact for top-spin, float, and jump serves. Players also learn platform and overhand passing, covering court seams, and passing from all angles.
  • Setting: Focuses on proper hand and arm extension, footwork for various court situations, offensive set selection, and advanced mental strategies for setters.
  • Attacking: Teaches footwork and arm swing techniques for hitting from multiple positions. Players will practice attacking with different tempos and executing smart in-game scoring strategies.
  • Defense: Details proper digging techniques for various angles and speeds. Players learn to read opposing offenses in real time and anticipate hitter intentions.
  • Attacking & Defense Combined: Developed for well-rounded athletes playing both front and back rows. Covers hitting footwork and tempos alongside real-time defensive reading and digging.
  • Ball Control: Focuses on foundational passing mechanics, platform angles, and footwork. Skills are applied directly to serve receive, freeballs, defense, and out-of-system plays.
