Summer Programs

For a volleyball player to reach their peak performance, they have to put a ton of training in. In particular, short-interval speed training, core stability, plyometric training, and free-weight training are at the core of our conditioning programs. Registration links can be found in the below calendar.

Summer Programs

After the weirdest volleyball season for all we’re ready to start some normalizing volleyball! We will be kicking off our camp season with an all-skills high energy camp! This camp is designed to resume skill training in progressions with the aid of video analysis to ensure proper execution followed by competitive game play with modified numbers to keep players at a distance. The camp is broken down into two sessions: Middle school and High School

All-Skills Camps:

This camp focuses on the fundamental skills of volleyball for everyone from beginning players to advanced athletes. Skills covered include passing, setting, hitting, blocking, defense, and serving, as well as volleyball systems and game strategies. Players will be grouped by skill level, and may be moved to different courts to be sure they are getting the most out of the camps.

The All-Skills camp has Full-Day (9:00am-3:00pm) and Half-Day (9:00am-1:00pm) options. The Full-Day option will have a lunch break around 1:00pm.

Each location has one Boys’ All-Skills Camp, which will allow athletes to play on a Men’s net to closer replicate the Club experience

Freshman Prep Camp

This camp, offered just prior to school tryouts, is designed to provide players with the technical and competitive advantage necessary to secure positions on their school teams. This camp will introduce the dynamics involved with a competitive tryout and its training sessions, and allow players to see a typical coach’s expectations during try-out week.

Middle School Prep Camp

This camp covers both technique and strategies of volleyball at the middle school level, covering several modified skills and systems often taught in grades 6-8. Campers will be taught the proper execution of the six fundamental skills in volleyball; serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and digging. The sessions will also include game systems and strategies at the middle school level.

This mini-camp series offers condensed skill work and a safe gradual return to the gym. Each campus focuses on a specific skill, starting with proper technique before progressing to more advanced concepts where athletes can apply that skill to game-like situations

Passing Camp: Covers platform angles, footwork, serve receive, free-balls, and movement to and from the ball in various situations, speeds, and heights

Setting Camp: Covers proper hand and arm extension with proper footwork in various ball situations for setters, and reviews the various sets in an offensive system, while teaching advanced in-game techniques and strategies

Serving Camp: Covers the stance, lift, and contact in several different serving techniques, including down serves and jump serves, as well as teaching in-game serving strategies

Ball Control Camp: Covers several skills in a controlled repetitive manner to help players become well rounded volleyball players and learn to minimize errors during games.

Attacking Camp: Covers arm swing, footwork, and timing of attacking form while training players in various offenses and incorporating game-like strategies to their swing

Defense Camp: Covers proper digging techniques from various attacks and angles, as well as teach players how to read a developing play and the attacker’s hitting intention. We will also introduce several emergency save techniques for pursuit plays.

Serve and Serve Receive Camp:

This Camp covers the two most important strategic skills in volleyball; Serving and Serve Receive. Skills covered will include the serving toss, arm swing, location, and hand position, as well as advanced serving skills and serving strategies, all taught in game-like situational drills.

This camp also covers all aspects of serve receive and ball control, including serve receive techniques such as overhead passing and platform passing. Sessions also teach proper movements and tactics such as receiving topspin serves, float serves, covering the seam, and teaching players to pass from every angle on the court.

Defense and Offense Camp:
This Camp is designed for players looking to build their all-around game and strengthen their front and back row skills. Coaches will cover all aspects of attacking, such as proper arm swing, hand contact and footwork to the ball, as well as in-game attacking strategies. We will also emphasize proper digging form including platform, footwork, and pursuit, and focus on the most important aspect of defense: reading the attacker’s intentions.

Designed to teach proper fundamentals, techniques, and teamwork strategies along with building a passion for the sport. Clinics will be split into groups based on skill levels

Middle School Skills Clinics: Designed for 5th-8th grade players looking for a strong foundation in their volleyball skill development. Sessions will focus on the proper mechanics of passing, setting, hitting, blocking, defense, and serving, as well as the basic rules of the game. Drills will be centered towards technical skill development, team play, and competition.

High School Skills Clinics: Designed for High School players. Sessions review the basics, then focus on specific advanced level skills including jump serving, overhand digs, blocking, “tooling,” and more. Each session will include a balance of skill work and game-like situational drills.

These camps are intended to allow players to train with their respective age group in preparation for club season. Club teams are determined by the USAV Age Definitions. The Age Definitions were revised on July 1st, 2021 prior to the 2021-2022 Club season, changing the cut-off date from September 1st to July 1st. This allows more athletes to play within their graduation year! Sign up for these age level camps to receive targeted training for important tactics and expectations for skill level at your particular age group.
